[TYPO3] Save Hook problem

Hello!

Would You please help me on this:
I would like to create extension that will automatically convert text that is to be saved (new or edited content), on SAVE PAGE action. 
I would like to trigger another function that would do some job (transliteration of some letters from one into another charset, needed for Latin to ASCII conversion and creation of ASCII 'language' version of the text).

I don't know where to place my function call in Typo3 code. (I have TYPO3 Ver. 4.0.1 installed)

Could You please guide me how and where to place this save hook so that the system would work like it works, with transliteration in the background?
