[TYPO3] Running multiple sites on one Typo3 installation

Can anyone point me in the direction of some guidance on this...
 
I've tried searching the netfielders.de list, but I think there's a problem
with the engine.
 
I've an existing typo3 3.7 installation that works well for the client and
uses realURL for SEO friedliness. Now they want to add another simpler site
(with its own URLs etc).
 
Since it's a sister site for the main one, what I'd like is use the same
mySQL DB, possibly even the same logins and admin access for the CMS since
it's the same team that will be running it. How do you go about setting up
the URLs so that the main site is accessed with www.site1.com... etc and the
sister site www.site2.com and www.site2.com/section/page.html etc and the
navigation/menu creation etc keeps itself nicely separate?
 
Any articles/documentation you could point me to?
