We do a bit of this. The domain bit is easy, you just create a domain 
record (using the list module) on the part of the tree that you want to 
appear as the root of another domain, then point the domain at the same 
install using Apache.

You may want to make the template at this point in the tree a rootlevel 
one, so you can re-specify anything that's different between to two. You 
don't have to though.
