[Typo3] replacement for metatags-extension?

hi,

I installed the metatags extension in order to be able
to add keywords to our homepage (ideally on a per-page basis
with an inheritance-mechanism).

However, when I "include static" the plugin.meta item,
it says it is "[DEPRECIATED]". Why is that so and what
is the replacement?
