[Typo3] CHC Forum permission settings?

I am using an older version in one site and created a new site with the newer version.

Did the setup of user permissions change? In the older version I was able to set view permissions on each Conference but the new one seems to only put view permission on each Category and not on Conferences!

Is this the case? Or did I miss something?
