[Typo3] user cannot see his filemount?

I have never tested other location than fileadmin/ but you may try this 
options in "install tool" - > "configure all"

[lockRootPath]
[userHomePath]
[groupHomePath]
[addAllowedPaths]

and set BASE to absolute in filemount record.
