[Typo3] External Database Authentication - Tutorial?

Hi list,

I'm new to this list and I'd like to ask a question.

After may tries I made it to install the "external database authentication
extension".
Unfortunately the documentation is not much of a help.
The configuration pointed to a step by step tutorial which I couldn't find. I
asked
Robert Lemke, he told me to ask here.

Has anybody worked with the extension already and can explain what steps to go
or at
least point to some kind of a getting-started documentation?

I'd really appreciate.
