[Typo3] simple BE programming question

hi all,

I know this is kind of a beginner question in BE programming:
I have a single module that uses t3lib_BEfunc (getFuncMenu) to create 
dropdown menus. This works fine, the Menu reloads the page and transmits 
the value I have chosen. But how can I transmit fixed values (like 
former selections)?
So in other words I am looking for the equivalent to hidden input fields 
in forms.
