I guess that you're speaking about the newloginbox extension

A common mistake on this is to forget to setup general  page storage to 
hallow the plugin to find out on wich record it should work

Just edit the header of the page that hold your plugin and set the 
"general page storage" on the sysfolder that hold your front end user.
