[Typo3] File upload problems after T3D transfer

I transfered a site to a new server using T3Ds on a newly installed version 3.70. I can upload an image file, it shows both in the image filemount and the uploads file, I can link to it in a given element, but the view shows a broken link. 

Bizarelly, a lot of images files show broken links, even if they are present in the uploads file. Others are fine and it is hard to find the difference. Images that have been loaded directly in an element (not in an image folder but only in the uploads file show broken links. All image files have the same permissions. 

I imported the image folders directly by SFTP.
