[Typo3] goof_fotoboek comments via exif

Hi,

I`d like goof_photoboek to display a little image-description under my
images. As I don`t want to add a textfile for each picture, I thought I
could use exif to include the comments directly into the image like it
said to be possible in the manual:

But I didn`t succeed so far. I compiled php5 with exif support on Debian
sarge and also installed both the metacam and jhead packages.

When I add an exif comment to one of my pictures, jhead shows the
comment on the command-line like this: "Comment      : this is a
comment?". metacam doesn`t show the comment field but a field "User
Comment:  ....." instead which only contains dots.

In the frontend, the extension shows all the exif information but not my
comment.

As soon as I add a comment with the Windows-XP file properties dialogue,
 I get the following error:

Did anyone succeed with showing exif comments in the frontend?
