[Typo3] RTE htmlarea not showing or saving text

Hi,

I've downloaded and installed typo3 3.8.0 (and the quickstart) and since
i'm using mozilla (1.7.8) i also downloaded and installed RTE htmlarea
(0.5.3)

When I click the button 'edit in rich text editor' the editor load but
no text is shown. When I enter some text and save it, the text is not
saved but the old text appears.

I've searched the archives, tried to install it as global extention,
deleted the default RTE but the htmlarea editor still wont show or save
any text. Does anyone had the same problems or knows a solution ?
