[Typo3] Typo3 transforming my content?

Hello,

I use Typo 3.7.0, and is having trouble getting Typo to output the right
content.

For example - when I insert a unordered list it is turned into a table, with
wierd looks and a .gif as the dot. The output from normal pagecontent with
images also gives me headaches - it ends up having transparent spacer-gifs.
In my opinion styling of that kind belongs in CSS.

Do anyone know how to disable this mysterious behaviour of Typo?
