[Typo3] replace ###marker### with content

I have made an extension that is visible as a footer on all pages.
The extension outputs som markers eg. ###faq###

I want this marker ###faq## to be replaced with content from
my tt_content table..

I to do this in my main template: (in page.10.marks)

faq = CONTENT
faq{
table = tt_content
}
But it doesnt work, even this doesnt work:
faq = TEXT
faq.value = Test test test

Whats wrong!!!!
