[TYPO3] [Typo3] Problems with showpic.php

Hi Andreas,

Even if you are on XP, if the target server for T3 is Linux, you need
the tar.gz file with the symlinks. Otherwise, open the zip file on your
computer, and everything that is symlinked, just make a copy into the
root public_html directory (index.php, showpic.php, the
typo3/typo3conf/t3lib/tslib directories), then upload them to the
server. Without a hosting company that allows shell access or offers T3
preinstalled, this can be a little more work to upgrade to new versions,
but it should work if you just have all the files and directories within
the main docroot, rather than symlinked (although there may still be a
directory or two that needs a symlink, in which case, ask your hosting
provider once all the files are there. They may be able to just make a
symlink or two for you).
