[Typo3] cyrillic

hey folks

i'm typing text in cyrillic within typo3. for example i create a new 
page in the quickstart package below  Results->Report results. the name 
is written with cyrillic characters and some of the content too. preview 
in firefox is fine. but once i get back in typo3 BE to do further 
editing it is not fine...i get something like this: 
&#1054;&#1074;&#1072; &#1077; &#1092;&#1072;&#1094;&#1072;&#1090;&#1072; 
&#1073;&#1088;&#1086;&#1112; 1 &#1079;&#1072; 
&#1086;&#1074;&#1072;&#1072; &#1085;&#1077;&#1076;&#1077;&#1083;&#1072;.
why?
