[Typo3] tt_news (v2) ignoring selection sort option "Ascending/Descending"

Hello,

I'm using a LIST view with the entries ordered by datetime. I'd like to
have the entries sorted "new is shown first",
for this there is a sorting option "ascending/descending" but tt_news is
simply ignoring this.
Has someone any hints how to fix this (even by TS)?
