[Typo3] lz_gallery Thumbnail creating without IM

Hi,

Assuming your server runs on Unix or Linux there is no need to let the
provider install IM for you. Just ask him to set the PHP safe mode LOCALLY
on, put the IM-binary-files in a folder, e.g. Httpdocs/IM and tell the T3
install the absolute pad to the IM-folder. Not sure what the absolute pad
is? Just open the install tool, and it shows on the bottom of the first
page!

is there a way for lz_gallery to create the thumbnails without the use of
imagemagick?
i am just negotiating with my provider if he could install imagemagick, but
i am not so sure he will...

another way would be to set the thumbnail size directly (since currently it
is calculated by maxWidth / colums)
