[TYPO3-dev] No output of $cObj->editPanel if no Admin

Hello,

I have a Viewhelper for an extension to give me the frontend editing buttons for the extension records. It works, but only as administrator. If I am not an admin, I don't get any output of 
$content = $cObj->editPanel($this->renderChildren(), $configuration, $currentRecord)

What do I have to do to get an output also for a non admin? Thanks for your help!
