Considering your other post, most likely you modified the wrong page or you 
have not cleared the page/content cache of the website.

Are you sure that you are not inside a workspace?

You can use the admin panel to debug the rendering process.

Also watch out between the difference of layout and header_layout!
header_layout is on the first tab, where layout is a bit hidden in 
appearance.
