The only "issue" with FED is that it tries to save the world, meaning it 
got so many great functionalities, but not aiming specifically for the 
ease of templating.

The common aim of fluidpage, fluidlayout and basictemplate is (I guess) 
to give a great tool for easy template use with FLUIDTEMPLATE.

I agree, lot of great functionality can be adopted from FED! And I think 
there will be :)
