Probably, but different hostnames should do the job,
the hosts serving static content must not point to
different IP addresses - as far as I know.

Yahoo made a research and as a general rule of thumb
it's recommended to use two aliases/hosts:

But maybe PCs nowadays can handle more parallel
downloaded files at once, compared to the PCs
which were used for the research 2007 so it _may_
makes sense to use more than two.
