On forge.typo3.org you'll find a number of projects for extbase based
extensions.
A few reasons for the low number of completed extensions are:
- extbase / fluid are pretty new (less than a year ago extbase and fluid
came bundled with TYPO3)
- extbase is based on FLOW3 which is still alpha software; many
developers may want a more mature base for their extensions
- extbase/fluid require a completely different method of building an
extension. It takes time to get used to that. It takes time to know the
new API.
- judging from the numerous questions and their answers in the
typo3.projects.typo3v4mvc newsgroup not everything which developers know
how to do with pi_base based extensions is easily possible with extbase
and fluid
- documentation and examples are hardly available; recently a German
book was published and as example there is the blog_example...
- developers have invested time and effort in existing pi_base based
extensions. Why rewrite it if the existing solution is still working
fine (and also still works with the still supported TYPO3 version 4.2)?
