It's not that I want to get mixed up in a discussion about benchmarks
as those are typically not very fruitful. Just two points:
1. The first blog post you quote has a banner at the top that states:

Update!

I have since run these tests and found PDO to be just as fast as the
mysql and mysqli extension. I am not sure what changed. But, change it
did.
============

The two others are from 2006.

If you base your decisions off anything from this quick googling,
you're going with very outdated and most likely completely useless
information. Just saying.
