You could aim for a one-fits-most solution :-)

In many cases fe_users (and tt_address) are not even solutions for 
moderate requirements. It would be nice if the basic, built-in solution 
could just survive moderate requirements and does not need to be 
replaced by a dozen slightly complexer, but different solutions.

A general category/tag/whatever solution would also help connect several 
extensions. Today's communities want relations between many things. It 
is however very hard to correlate tt_news categories with 
dam_categories, ir_faq categories, etc.

Separating things like persons, fe_logins, addresses, etc. might provide 
the basis for other extensible constructions and make it easier to let 
different extensions work together. Kind of like "inspiring extensions 
to share data".
