No, this is what is needed for decisions in the real world. If you want 
to build a new killer application based on TYPO3 and your own estimates 
are that this will take you about 6 months to finish.

If v5 is expected to hit the streets in the next six months you might 
want to take the chance to go for that version and invest time in 
learning to work with the new framework.
If it will take another year or two you won't want to wait for it for 
this project.

These are things you have to do often; buy a new car now, or wait for 
the new model? {buy that new PC now or wait for one with the next 
version of Windows? | buy that Macbook Pro now or wait for the new 
model?} Buy new shoes now, or wait for the new collection?
