It will do what the DB allows it to. Mysql has no language mode, but 
other DBs have. But that means you have to assgn a language to your 
index. Which in turn means that you need a table for each language. 
Possible in TYO3 (though it may be tricky with external documents), but 
hard to set up automatically.
