[TYPO3-dev] How to auto-update Typo3 to latest stable via SVN ?

You mean a release like 4.2.x and not the current state of SVN. So I
don't see why you would want to use SVN for it. But if the releases are
still tagged you can use the tags to retrive a specific version.

Ask if on TYPO3.org or somewhere else you could get a file called
typo3_src-4.2-latest.zip
