[TYPO3-dev] EM oddity: fetching the extension list

I know. But something seems to be wrong with this particular server. 
Somehow the gzfile()/implode() construct used to feed the xml data into the 
xml parser dies silently.

But of course it would be nice if the .bin file would be created if it's 
missing but .xml.gz exists.
