Yes, we need to get away from the MySQL-centered SQL, but the plain 
Adodb data dictionaries are fine as well, as I can understand them just 
as well as plain SQL.

In the long run, all this should be handled internally in the ORM layer: 
We have the column definitions in TCA anyway, why not use that and drop 
tables.sql or tables.xml?
