Yeah, I read that thread when I was looking for a solution. Adodb sounds
good, and that's what I am using right now. There was a class in the
sr_feuser_register extension.

I am not familiar with the core, but the class is already there, so I
don't know how hard it would be to at least make adodb dates available for
extension development and then gradually switch over to it.
