I wonder why _you_ ask this ;)
Isn't this a common technique in object-orientated software engineering!?

Of course it would be nice to have a set of interfaces that frontend-plugins 
should implement. But before i continue, lets wait for Elmar who will 
definitely show up here immediately to make this a ECT-topic... ;)
