Dear List,
To be honest, I´ve never heard or even used PSPad before. But on my
machine (WinXP) it works, also due to the little installation manual at
the sweeTS web site.
In general, I would prefer to have a Eclipse solution for developing
with typo3 including TS. Extension development with phpeclipse works
quite good. But it´s far away from the more convenient development of
java applications. If somebody knows more about developing typo3 with
Eclipse, please give me a hint.
But this is actually about SweeTS, so here are my suggestions:
Auto-completion:
1. Integrating auto-completing is a very good idea. But it seems that it
works not very well, yet. Imagine that one is typing "config." and
presses Ctrl+J (for auto-completion) nothing is shown to go on. It would
be nice if those elements would be listed that could follow "config."
such as "doctype" or "baseURL".
2. Imagine that you type in "config.d" and press Ctrl+J. I would expect
that "doctype" is (among others) a possibility to choose. But there are
only 20 possibilities shown. Maybe this could be configured in PSPad?
Unfortunately I haven´t found such a configuration in PSPad.ini. To get
"doctype" as a possibility one has to type in "config.do".
3. The list of possibilites to auto complete shows items that doesn´t
logically apply to the latter item e.g. "config.d" shows also "DB" or
"config.f" shows also "FFFFFF". It seems that the logic what item can
follow another isn´t implemented, yet?
This logic maybe is already put together in some way by Bernhard Kraft
(see his thread about his TS editor):
"The Syntax verification has been made possible by creating a large PHP
array containing the complete
code structure of TypoScript (which was 3 days pure work :( )"
Help:
4. When I select an item and call the help for this item it doesn´t show
me the exact help entry for this item in TSref. E.g. I call the help for
"linkVars" and it opens the help window. The entry "linkVars CONFIG" is
selected in the index list, but in the content pane it shows me the
start page. I have to double click on the pre-selected item at the left
and it opens the right page, but I have to manually scroll down to the
item. It maybe sounds that I´m to lazy to click and scroll, but this is
what object-oriented programming is party all about: programmers lazyness ;)
But this isn´t a fault of Eckhard (Bart), because TSref doesn´t contain
html anchors for every item. Would it be helpful if TSref contains such
anchors? Or would it even be more helpful for all of us to transform
TSref to javadoc? See more about this at typo3 hci:

Does anybody knows how to subscribe to the HCI list? I can see posts in
the archive, but it´s not listed in thunderbird.
good work! chris
