Hi Sven,
Thomas is right. You have never seen me so inviting to new ideas than now.
I'm completely interested in rethinking every bit of the system so your
thoughts really are interesting to me. Yes, my worry is _how_ it can be
done.
Anyway, as a start, could we (or do we have already?) have a wiki where we
can dream thoughts about how a redesigned TYPO3 could look like? I would
like you, Dan and whoever are enthusiastic about this to sketch all the
thoughts there instead of dumping them into this list; That would be the
first step to create som structure as Peter points out.
I would like to clarify also; Dreaming about how a redesigned TYPO3 could
look does not mean that we will implement it necessarily. A valid outcome
might be that we think that it is not worth it. Another valid outcome is
that we do it completely. And a third option is that setting thoughts free
will help us identify where efforts can mean the most for a yet backwards
compatible TYPO3.
Of course none of this addresses my original question in this thread which
was about who should do all of this. So please don't hi-jack the thread to
become yet another innovation ride.

I think I'm too ignorant to know what a document model is in the context you
refer to. Maybe you can explain what it is and how you imagine it could
work for TYPO3 - in a new thread :-)
