If that's what you're suggesting, I suggest we stick with the BE we've
got _now_. Overall, that thing's user interface is certainly no better
than Typo3's, and in some ways it's quite a bit worse -- for example,
the 'Site Explorer' has no way to view ALL pages (or even get some
kind of overview of the site structure...) Having just worked on a
project that used a cms with a similarly crippled BE (Webgui) I can
honestly say that this problem alone would outweigh a _lot_ of good
features.
It's also apparently impossible to get any kind of overview of db
records; for example, there's nothing analagous to the "List" module,
and where you _can_ list records, the amount of screen real estate
occupied is so huge that you'd be limited to 10 or 15 records on a
page of a reasonable length. I have a client who runs a site with
1500+ news items -- it'd be impossible with an interface like this
one.
I _do_ like having the 'filter' available in one click (Information
blocks > catalog), but It's still far and away less capable than the
"List" module in Typo3 (where it's possible e.g. to edit _only_ a
single field for multiple records at once...)
You are aware that the Typo3 BE can be drastically altered in
appearance via the use of access rights and permissions, right? What
_specifically_ are you recommending to our attention in this tool?
