Ehrm,

The problem is actually a bit worse!

Selecting any language other than the ones listed below will break stuff
badly!

You will be staring at an error screen telling you it cannot find your
selected language.

You have to select one of the languages below. These are the only ones
shipped with the 'fixed' phpadmin.

english-iso-8859-1.inc.php

norwegian-iso-8859-1.inc.php
polish-iso-8859-2.inc.php
portuguese-iso-8859-1.inc.php

russian-windows-1251.inc.php

This should be stated prominently since it is rather off-putting behaviour!
