I see your point on skinning.
I just have a remark about TV itself.
It's alpha, no even beta.
So I suggest this way to contribute instead of ranting:
- Write a short email with your interest and ask if TV development has
   done some changes since the last uploaded version
- if not, write a patch and submit it together with a concept how it can
   be done
- if so, just write a concept what could (and should) be done

But all in all... keep a low profile and just start ranting around as 
soon as you have a status to rant.
This means:
- If you paid someone to build TV
- if this feature was told to be in the ext.
- if you are a dev that's involved in TV (and even then it is highly
   questionable to rant around your co-workers)
