[Typo3-dev] getFieldHeader_sortLink not sorting

I have a problem in my extension, the sort links in the header are not
sorting anything.

I create all my listing using typo3 functions such as "$this->pi_exec_query"

What should I check in order to spot the problem... is there a
relation with piVars[sort] and piVars[descFlag]?
