 You can add a wizard where you put your super special textarea in,
 take a look at the "table wizard" for example...

 btw: die HTMLArea RTE works on most modern browsers and is easy to
 configure (http://typo3.org/extensions/repository/search/rtehtmlarea/)
 AND has a lot of features (that easily can be disabled)!
