[Typo3-dev] Insert link problem in mininews plugin

I think that the problem appears when the mininews plugin reads the data from the DB - it somehow does not translate the <LINK> tags into <a> tags. When I changed the record directly in the DB to be with <a> tag, the link in the changed news is functioning just fine!

The mininews plugin does not display links that are created in the “full text” section using the rich text editor (RTE).
 
It seems that the <LINK></LINK> tags are not translated into <a href ></a> tags when they are displayed in the page. 
 
I’ve tried with different versions of the mininews plugin (0.1.5, 0.1.7, 0.0.11). I’m using TYPO3 version 3.6.2.
 
How can this be fixed?
