ok, didn't knew this, but i just translated the existing labels including 
any "specials".

i guess you yourself have to correct some labels then:

typo3/sysext/setup/locallang_csh_mod.xml: key "language", label 
"[language.image_descr]": "...  English is the default language and 
<u>all</u> labels must be available ..."

this was the first instance i run across this behaviour.

and yes, you are right: the labels do not get rendered in IE, even though i 
thought i had seen the underlined word in IE some weeks ago...
