AMPonCD is a Windows only solution that "doesn't start from the CD".

Knoppix is Linux based and is bootable, so you are nearly 100%
compatibility-safe since you use a well tested OS with everything already
set and "independant" from the PC actually running. And it's safe since it
doesn't have to install anything.

If those Linux guys set up something great for Knoppix, it will probably be
easy to port it to WampOnCD if you like.  ; )
