>From the list: http://www.x-author.de/en/tools/amp/x-author_04.html#acc7e71badf20a04f36d11be557ceb7a5b

Downloaded it, put in the testsite in htdocs and only had some permission-problems ... didnt get further though - and it doesnt take up much space.

  Subject: [Typo3-dev] TYPO3 on a Knoppix CD?

  Hi Folks.

I just went to a tradefair in London where we came up with the idea to
hand out TYPO3 on CDs to people (assuming you are having a stand
promoting TYPO3). This is what the others can hardly do!

Imagine this; someone comes up to you and asks about what this TYPO3
thing is. You take a CD from your pocket and inserts in the nearest
laptop and turn it on. You offer him coffee while the laptop is booting
Knoppix. Mozilla Firefox is automatically started when KDE comes up.
Also Apache, PHP, MySQL etc. is already running and a blank TYPO3
website + database was automatically unpacked to a directory on the RAM
disk (from where MySQL, Mozilla etc. also runs of course to gain speed).
Mozillas startpage kindly introduces you to this TYPO3 test-environment
and you click a link to login in the backend.

Now you demonstrate how TYPO3 works on this live demonstration for the
guy who is interested! Of course the test-site set up is beautifully
designed and features all the interesting things of TYPO3 out of the box
  for him to see.
When you are finished you simply shut down the laptop, take out the CD
and give it to him. He can now walk home with the demonstration you gave
him so he can play with it himself or give it to one of the technically
  minded people in his company.

Of course you gave him your card since you want to sell him the
implementation services. And maybe - depending on how complex that will
be - the Knoppix installation could even be customized so the start page
in Mozilla was easy to tailor make with your own company logo presenting
the CD contents, your services, why people will need guys like you even
though the software is free etc.

What about it? Doesn't it sound like a great tool every one could really
benefit from? If I just knew how to do this I would love it as an
evening fun-project. But I don't. We need someone who knows how to
customize Knoppix for this and someone who can create the testsite
including the presentation framework around it.
