Hello,

sounds like a nice idea. Would be very interesting to have several
extension programmers speaking on this event about the future of their
extensions.

I'm part of the Typo3-UG Berlin and we just made a workshop (I couldn't
be there, because of work, argh... :( ) that was held at the "Freie
Universität-Berlin" (Free-University Berlin) and was organized by
Steffen Mueller (who btw. put some good work into getting the room with
computers and everything).

I think this or some similar "uncommercial" frame would be a good
solution to promote an open source product. I believe there are some
people out there, who always try to benefit from organizing such things
for themselves, so I would really like to see an basis for such an
event, that enables uncommercial projects to benefit from it as much as
companies do.
One possibility to force this, maybe to charge higher prices for people
wanting to present their companies on this event, and with this income
lower the prices for "normal" users. When paying the higher price you
get a "BE-User"-badge with your company-name on it and you are listed on
the official sponsors list. The difference on this could be for example
15,- Euro for normal users and 300,- Euro for company employees.

I will talk about this topic on the next meeting of Typo3-UG Berlin, I
think at least 4-5 people would be interested in helping on the
organization (if it would be in Berlin of course - wherever this may
happen, the local TUG has the most work to do...)

Double-plus-good. :)

bye,
Thomas
