Hi all,
I've been going mad with the inconsistencies in TypoScript.
Has anyone, while they've been using TypoScript, found this. Or am just
not getting it?
The problems I have are when things like GIFBUILDER's text object
My question is: Is there any plan to formalise the language? I think it
would be a _really_, _really_ good idea. A formal definition of the
language would help so much, and make things make more sense.
As it is, some datatype and objects have certain properties, while
others don't. I've been looking through the Php, and there blatent
legacy issues.
For example, the wrap function's third parameter:

function wrap($content,$wrap,$char="|")

..is only supported in some (possibly only one) of the datatypes. This
I hope this doesn't sound too ranty - but these inconsistencies have
wasted me a lot of time.
If there is a plan to tidy-up these things, I'd like to get involved.
Otherwise, could we set up a "TypoScript language" development group to
formalise and expand the langauge (while maintaining backwards
compatibility, of course).
