[TYPO3-debian] package state and future development

Hi there!

Debian Etch is now frozen and therefore likely to be released
within a month and the good news is: Typo3 4.0.2 will be part of
that release!
Unfortunately the date of the 4.0.3 release was too near the
date of freezing etch and i lost another week in the hospital
so 4.0.3 was not ready early enough. Sorry.

So what are the future plans for the packages?

Currently i experimenting with dbconfig-common. Its a tool
to access/create/modify databases and query the user for
the login credentials for that databases. This way the Typo3
databases can be created during installation and the admin
does not have to use the install-tool...
What do you think? Would this be a cool wannahave feature
or is it rather useless?

I think about providing several alternative versions of
typo3-dummy package for some of the databases supported by
debian (e.g. typo3-dummy-mysql, typo3-dummy-postgres)
Every version could provide a working configuration of dbal
per default. This is why i'm testing dbconfig-common (see above).
Comments on that?

Do you have other suggestions or critics?
