Works great and has LZW support (didn't check that, can one please confirm

Make sure you have installed php4-gd, I suggest you replace ImageMagick with
GraphicsMagick:

/etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://typo3.sunsite.dk/software/debian/ sarge all

and then:
# apt-get install graphicsmagick graphicsmagick-im-compat
