[Typo3-debian] Which mysql version do I have?

I'm in doubt of which mysql version I'm running.
When I use phpinfo() I have a line saying:
Client API version 3.23.49 
But when I log in at the Typo3 BE and use phpMyAdmin it's saying:
MySQL 4.0.18-standard-log running on localhost as root at localhost 

So what's the deal about this?
