Hi,

it seems as if "phpmyadmin" depends on at least one php package, e.g. on
libapache2-mod-php4.

Although this sounds logic it isn`t nice in this case, because you will have
to backup phpmyadmin first (e.g. by using dpkg-repack or maybe only the
config file "config_inc.php") and then remove it (and later on re-install)
as well.

I now really hope, that after this purge and the re-install the strange
error is solved.

One more hint: Only some debian packages still do not purge themselves for
100%. PHP4 usually does. But please be so kind, and have a look into
/etc/php4/ after purge - but before reinstall. If there is still something
left, after you purged the packages, you will have to remove it manually.

Kind Regards
