[Typo3-debian] Newsletter problem (direct mail)

Hi to all,

I hope somebody can help. I just want to know if somebody (with typo3 3.7.0
on debian (so I know it can be done)) has the direct mail plug-in working?

My problem is that when I want to fetch the mail content nothing happens.
(After two day's of googling I'm becoming a little desperate.)

Any suggestions on where to look or what might be the cause are greatly
appreciated.
